Uganda Aviation Academy is registering students that want to pursue a career in aviation for the incoming September intake.
The academy that prides in being Uganda’s most affordable aviation school offers a wide range of courses.
For the September intake, the academy has scrapped off application fees and below are the courses to consider as you apply;
FLIGHT OPERATIONS AND DISPATCH (9 months)
In aviation, there are two individuals that are responsible for the operation and safety of the flight, the captain and the dispatcher. Dispatchers are highly trained individuals who gold a flight operations license, they are employed by airlines and aviation-related companies to work in the operational control center.
This generally started by the dispatcher with steps like flight planning, weight and balance, weather, and ATC coordination. They will review the package generated by the dispatcher and sign off on the flight plan.
AIRPORT OPERATIONS (9 month)
In today’s rapidly changing environment, airports have to adapt to economic and technological changes. These pressures have had significant effects on the way airports do business with rising competition from other airports and other modes of transportation, it is imperative that airports recruit and provide employees and managers with the best available knowledge and skills.
FOUNDATION IN TRAVEL AND TOURISM (12 months)
Acquire essential knowledge and skills to work in the travel and tourism industry and become an effective travel professional .provide advice on flight, accommodation, and tour products, and how to ensure safe travelers fulfill necessary travel requirements.
This course will help you to understand how to take advantage of and seek out opportunities in the field of travel agents, airline fares desk, airline ticket agents, tours and travel agents.
CARGO INTRODUCTORY COURSE (12 months)
The way professional freight forwarders conduct business around the world is constantly changing .change brings both opportunity and challenges. The management skills and the organizational expertise of a professional air cargo agent and increasingly in demand, hundreds of companies are eager and willing to work with air cargo agents for transporting their products to their customers and expect professionalism, creativity, and higher standards of services.
This course will help you to understand how to take advantage of and seek out opportunities in the field of freight forward.
AIRLINE CABIN CREW TRAINING (9 months)
Working as a cabin crew for a major airline is an exciting and challenging experience.in addition to jetting off to exotic destinations, the job also requires a high degree of responsibility and specialization to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers in line with industry regulations.
The course is ideal for young professionals looking to get a head start in the profession, introducing the skills and responsibilities expected by the world’s leading airlines. Special emphasis is given to customer services and procedures for handling unusual situations during flight with the final module of the course giving useful tips for completing the recruitment process.
AIRLINE CUSTOMER SERVICES (9 months)
Become the expert that sets you aspart of service excellence and customer loyalty within the airline industry .discover new trends in the service and loyalty programs; improve communication skills, contact strategies, and complaint management; explore cultural awareness issues and stress management techniques.Drive outstanding customer service with the winning combination of knowledge, skills, and attitude.
IATA GDS FARES AND TICKETING COURSE (6months)
Explore and interpret global distribution systems fares (GDS) by use of mileage system pricing.
AVIATION SECURITY AWARENESS (3 months)
Security is a concern for everyone in the industry, affecting virtually all areas of operation.Whether you work with passengers, cargo, or at a security checkpoint, you need to have a role in keeping the industry safe.
This course introduces you to the security measures and regulations you need to know to work responsibly in the industry. It also provides examples of practices you can apply in your workplace to identify and prevent potential security threats.
