Fly is a community of teens who are committed to doing things they love and shunning things they don’t like. Since its launch in September 2016, the Fly campaign has been committed to empowering teens to do their thing through various activities.
In an event hosted at Galaxy FM Kansanga last Saturday, FLY officially unveiled a competition in which teens were asked to draw a no smoking sign. A number of them participated in the competition and the winner’s sign will feature on the Fly T- shirts. The event also featured performances from Roden Y, among other artistes.
Apparently, Fly has been asking teens to share their ‘thing’ and what isn’t cool to them across various parts of the city as a way of giving them a platform to express themselves by talking about things that matter to them.
Despite their different interests, it turns out that the Kampala teens had one thing in common which happens to be “tobacco isn’t our thing”. Teens are shunning cigarettes, shisha, kuber et al by putting their time in other activities like dancing, hanging out with friends and staying true to themselves.
Fly decided to celebrate the teen’s choice by launching a competition where teens can design a no-smoking sign. Through vetting by fellow teens and creative experts, the winner will get his/her logo published on the limited edition of Fly T-shirts.
The competition is running from 8th – 19th January 2018 which was intended to engage the teens during their holiday. In case you are wondering on how to join, well, entries will be received via the FLYUG Facebook page and physical drop offs at Galaxy FM reception. According to the Fly team, the winner will be announced by 29th January.
