Former Chief Justice Bart Katureebe has been installed as the third Chancellor of Uganda Management Institute (UMI), a state-owned National Branch for Training, Research and Consultancy in the field of Administration, Leadership and Management. Katureebe takes over from Hon Namirembe Bitamazire, the former Minister of Education and Sports.
Katureebe, who was appointed by President Museveni as UMI’s new Chancellor in June has now officially taken over and ready to carry out his duties.
Katureebe was appointed a justice of the Supreme Court in 2005. On 5 March 2015, he was appointed chief justice till 20th June 2020 when he marked his last day in office as a chief justice of the Republic of Uganda and hand handed over to his Deputy Alfonse OWiny-Dollo to be the Acting Chief Justice.
