Her excellency Fatoumata Tambajang, the Former Vice President of The Gambia will this year deliver a keynote address during the three days annual Julius Nyerere Presidential Lecture Series (JNPLS) slated from June 6-8th in Kampala.
Tambajang, will deliver a keynote address which will focus on the crucial role of the youth especially young women in politics, in business, within communities, and as part of the broader social, economic and political Pan-African agenda.

According to Julius Nyerere Leadership Center, (JNLC) this year’s lecture which focuses on Women, Pan-Africanism, Community and Servant leadership will consists of three lecture events starting with the keynote lecture on June 6th 2023, a Fireside (Ekyooto) conversation with the keynote speaker and female student leaders on June 7th and multimedia roundtable conversations on the last day.
The event will climax with prominent speakers, great leaders and thinkers across a wide variety of disciplines to Makerere University as a premier center of scholarly leadership for thought-provoking conversations.

“Speakers are chosen for their eloquence as well as the impact of their actions, both within their respective industries and throughout the country and the world. The series is open to students, faculty, and staff, as well as the general public. The aim of the lecture series is to encourage cross-generational dialogues that mentor present and future leaders for effective and accountable leadership.” The organization stated.
The JNLC Presidential Lecture Series (PLS) is an annual event that exposes students and the broader community to inspiring ideas, courageous leadership and models of civic engagement and civil discourse.
The objective of the 2023 Presidential lecture is to highlight the systemic changes needed for women to become transformative leaders to effectively shape inclusive, equitable societies that humanity needs and deserves.
