The former guild president of Islamic University in Uganda Kampala campus has been terribly stabbed to near death by unknown assailants and left unconscious battling for his life.
The former guild presidents of 2017-2018 Sheik Kassim Komugisha was attacked by armed goons on his way to his home. According to friends and social media photos of bedridden Komugisha, his condition is alarming as he is seen covered in a pool of blood with marks of sharp piercing instruments which the assailants used to stab him.
Kassim Komugisha had served as the guild president of IUIU in the year 2017 to 2018 before handing office to the current guild president of the campus. By the time of this incident, he was also the serving KALOC leader and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairman of Kabale District where he hails from.
By press time, it is not yet clear why he was stabbed despite the high levels of gun killings and kidnaps in the country. IUIU as a campus has however not yet released a statement on the incident that occurred to their former guild president or whereabouts of the health facility from where he is receiving treatment.
However, a close source revealed to campus bee that he might have been stabbed because of his political party. Kassim remains in critical condition battling for his life after the stabbing incident.
