Former Kyambogo University guild aspirant Michael Nkwanga held a community outreach in Obivu village in West Nile.
Nkwanga visited Obivu Nursery and Primary School that was recently in the news for lack of enough infrastructure and scholastic materials.
Inspired by the desire to help, Nkwanga visited the school on Friday and donated materials that he had obtained through a donation drive to save the school.
A total of 164 dozens of exercise books, 150 pens, 48 dozens of pencils, 3000 pieces of chalk, 3 reams of paper, Study charts, manilla charts, a carton of rubbers, rulers, biscuits and sweets were donated to the school.
Nkwanga says he was touched by the interest of the kids in studying despite the unbearable challenges that come with it.
“I was greatly touched by their interest to study, stay in school and attain Education amidst all these very many unbearable challenges. I felt the need to extend a hand to these special children and create a spark in their lives but also to restore their hope and re-energize their thoughts to the fact that the world has not abandoned them,”he said.
Nkwanga thanked all those that contributed to the donation he gave to the school.
“I thank everyone that contributed to this cause in whichever way. Your generosity and kindness was of great help and made a difference in the lives of these children,”he said.
Nkwanga contested for Kyambogo guild presidency and lost to Wafuka Edrine Koholo in the previous election. He currently serves as the public relations officer at Pan African Pyramid and is the founder Heart of Hope Uganda.
