Kyambogo University’s current guild president (by virtue of not having handed over) Jonathan Tundulu famously known as Tundu-Tundulu has today, the 8th of September 2020 declared his political ambitions as a Lord Councillor (LCV) for Kyambogo, Banda, Ntinda and Nabisunsa under the Flag of his mentor and icon Hon. Robert Kyagulani aka Bobi Wine (NUP).
Following a statement Hon. Tundulu released on his social media handle on Facebook, our reporter learnt that the sudden yet highly speculated endeavor was inspired by consultations and engagements with the people of Nakawa West (Kyambogo, Banda, Ntinda among others)
“I finally acknowledge the calling and need to take up the mantle for the betterment of the society. This presents yet another preeminent time to speak truth to power, frankly and boldly as we champion the struggle of the Muntu Wawansi who struggles each day for survival in this repressive broken regime.” Jonathan quoted on his handles.
He added that the duty is upon him to push further in mending and developing these societies with an extraordinary commitment than before. He concluded by saying his mission of rallying people in exercising their mandate inorder to build a free, United and democratic Uganda shall never be stopped.
Considering Hon. Tundulu’s performance in office as guild president, it goes without saying that some ground personnel (mostly his competition) believe he may be more committed to NUP than to the region he represents. A factor which had previously been rumored to have gotten him a vote of no confidence as guild president.
