Professor William Bazeyo, a former Makerere University don was sworn in as the chairman board at Uganda Cancer Institute.
Professor Bazeyo who recently retired from Makerere University seems not to be tired yet given his latest assignment.
The celebrated academician at Makerere University’s school of public health was appointed to this position by Honourable Ruth Aceng, the minister in charge of health.
The new board headed by Professor Bazeyo took oath on Friday August 12, 2022 in a ceremony held at Serena hotel.
Professor William Bazeyo will takeover from renown oncologist Professor Charles Olweny, whose shoes are expected to fit Bazeyo quite well.
Prior to the appointment, Professor William Bazeyo served as a dean at the school of public health and deputy vice chancellor finance and administration at Makerere University.
Professor Bazeyo announced his retirement from Makerere University at the end of the year 2021.
The retired Makerere University don will now head the Uganda Cancer Institute Board.
