The President of the Republic of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has anoounced the death of the speaker of the Parliament of Uganda Rt.Hon Jacob Oulanya.
The president announced via his official Twitter account.
“Country men and country women, it is with a lot of sadness that I announce the death of the Rt. Hon Jacob Oulanya, the speaker of the parliament,” he announced.
President Museveni added that he received the news at around 10:30am from the doctor that has been taking care of him in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The late joined Makerere University in 1988, where he studied agricultural economics. He graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in that subject.
That same year, he entered law school, also at Makerere University, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Laws degree. He served as speaker of the university students’ guild during his stay at Makerere.
