The sky is no longer the limit for anyone daring for more. A one Joram Kakama is dissecting skies with zeal, courage and determination.
Joram’s story is more than a fairly tale given the highs and lows he had to experience before laying hands on the cockpit.
The former Makerere University Business School (MUBS) student highlighted on his inspirational journey, exclusively with this website, citing the genesis of the dream, the in-between and future prospects.

Joram credits his move into aviation to a particular incident back in the day “when a military chopper landed in our home town (Rushere) to pick injured soldiers.”
“That was in my P.1. I admired the way the procedures were carried out and wondered if I could fly a plane one day,” he narrated.
Fast forward, the dream started actualizing in late 2019 when he enrolled to an aviation school in 2018. This was at Kajjansi Flying School, which later transformed into Bar Aviation Academy.
Upon excelling at the trials, the school offered Joram a convenient study scheme that would allow him manage the high costs of aviation training.
He also received an internship programme at the same academy and unlimited access to train with all company aircrafts, this boosted his exposure to gaining flight experience.
Regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic related challenges, Joram was able to complete the course in time and subsequently employed in 2022.
“I currently work as a pilot on commercial flights for domestic and international flights,” he revealed.

The visionary lad pointed out career development, experience and social capital as some of the landmarks in his time in air. He hopes to continuously grow and learn as a pilot so as to fly more aircrafts.
Joram is a signatory to the Uganda Professional Pilots Association (UPPA), hence, part of the organizing committee of the forthcoming Uganda Aviation Expo.
