Former National Baseball Player and Makerere Student Wanted Over Homosexuality

Ochen Paul, a Makerere University student and former National Baseball Player is being hunted by police after he escaped from prison. Ochen, who was arrested on 20th January 2019 has reportedly escaped from prison and he is currently on the run.

Campus Bee has learned that Ochen was arrested for engaging in homosexual acts with a one Kalungi Jayden who is said to have been his longtime partner. The Uganda Police Force is currently hunting him down for committing two crimes; being a homosexual and escaping from prison.

While Ochen’s location remains unknown, we have been reliably informed that a token of appreciation will be given to whoever informs the authorities about his where abouts. Ochen’s family is currently living in fear, as the community distanced itself from them, after their son committed what they consider to be an abomination in the African setting.

Ochen’s family, which stays in Jinja (Eastern Uganda) has already faced several threats from the society and an angry mob that kept demanding for their son’s whereabouts.

The current situation portrays Ochen as a total disgrace to society and his family is as well looking for him. It should be recalled that Ochen was subjected to mob justice and later apprehended by police after several complaints from the public emerged that him and his partner were throwing gay parties in their hostel based in Ntinda.

His fellow baseball players as well had drifted away from him, and he was considered a misfit in society even before he was arrested.

More details about his escape indicate that while being transported from the police station to Luzira Prison, Ochen jumped out of the police van before disappearing in thin air. The Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Father Simon Lokodo has on many occasions warned the public against homosexuality and the law clearly indicates that it is a crime in Uganda. Several people have lost their lives to mob justice over the same matter.

The whereabouts of the former National Baseball Player remain unknown and it is not clear what the angry people will do to him when they finally set eyes on him.
