Ritah Namakula, a student of Mass Communication at Uganda Christian University was pronounced dead last night as she succumbed to pneumonia.
In chilling Facebook post, the UCU female Guild President 2017/2018, Prisca Amongin eulogized Namakula as an angel.
Below is her full eulogy of the deceased.
“I remember the first day I stepped foot into the university to pick my admission and try settle in, Ur the first person I met, I talked to! U were my first friend at UCU, and I’ll never Forget that Ritah! I won’t! U smiled, were warm, so receptive and depicted the serenity of UCU! You amazed me at how u would give so much to a stranger…You were an Angel sent to receive me! You told me about Sabiiti, about how we dressed, and so many funny things in those few minutes we first spoke!! I loved u from that instance! U campaigned for me, voted for me and ensured I gave my best for the election I ran for.
You believed in me, kept in touch since 2015, sat down together, shared alot of stories each time we had a minute, whether DH, compound, in my room or wherever..we did the ladies’ fellowship at Agape square and alot more!
Yesterday u breathed your last! I guess it was coz of this cold month March has been! We even met in January laughed and cried together at the joy of Ur birthday!! Am here still grappling to come to terms with Ur demise! I still can’t believe it my darling!
All those memories just bring tears to my eyes now! My body still numb, but I hv to face it nonetheless! I have no option! May the Lord receive you my Angel and I know He will judge your soul with Mercy coz u revered him! Sleep well Ritah Namakula! Luv u forever!”
May Ritah’s soul rest in eternal peace.
