The question of where Frank Gashumba, self-acclaimed philanthropist and father of TV presenter, Shiela Gashumba gets his money has been quite common among the Ugandan population.
That was until today when Bukedde Online seems to have brought an end to the public’s curiosity. In a fully detailed statement, Frank Businge, Dora Mwenyango and Arisen accuse Gashumba of taking between 900 to 1000 US dollars from them.
Businge got to know about Frank Gashumba’s Company, Sarafina Skills Services which takes unemployed Ugandan’s to Dubai, Qatar and Abu Dhabi from Gashumba’s kid brother Deos Ntaganda, a fellow student at Nkumba University in 2013.
Being a loyal listener to all Gashumba’s radio programmes made it easy for Businge to trust in him. Businge who was unemployed after University thus spread word to other friends and somehow managed raised the money to go for kyeyo.
In total, six people came from Entebbe and Ntaganda [Gashumba’s brother] led them to his brother’s company’s offices on Energy Center, 2nd floor room F10, Market street Kampala where they found many other people and also Veronica Kemirembe , its manager.
Paying about 2.7million each, the group was promised to lift off by May 31st 2015. However, they did not hear from the office until later when Kemirembe called inviting them to the offices where they were requested to pay more 100 dollars per person. To show progress, the group signed a contract on 5th June, 2015. To their dismay however, while Kemirembe was on a two week visit to Dubai, Frank Gashumba announced on radio that he no longer takes people abroad.
The group started demanding for their money and some have only received up to 500,000 shillings.
Businge further portrays his dismay after Gashumba shouted at his concerned mother over the phone this January, Friday 22, asking her whether she gave him any money to ascertain her right to demanding money from him.
On contacting Frank Gashumba, the no nonsense bubble mouth explained that as much as he started the company, it was now in the management of his sister Veronica Kemirembe and he had no idea whatsoever about the group’s issues until two weeks back.
