Yesterday 9th December 2021, Fishermen in Lake Nabugabo recovered one of the two bodies of intern doctors who drowned in the evening hours of Wednesday.
The retrieved body was that of Dr. Emmanuel Kidambire who was graduate from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST).
Police in Masaka Region reported that the deceased did not have life jackets and there was no one to their rescue, indicating possible reluctance in the beach management before they drowned.
Mr. Mohamed Nsubuga,the greater Masaka Police Spokesperson told journalists that investigations are underway although the forces are yet to summon the beach management for interrogation.
According to residents around the beach, the students drowned in the lake on December 8 as they had gone to have leisure time at Nabugabo sand beach. This happened after one of them decided to ride a boat yet he was not a professional at it.
