As the new academic year at Makerere University is few days away from kicking off, various senior six leavers were yesterday spotted at Makerere Senate building waiting to secure a position at Uganda’s biggest institution.
Like all the previous years have been, sharp guys are all over the University premises willing to help stranded freshers though it is not clear whether they charge for their help or not. Today one of these ‘good Samaritans’ at Makerere was nabbed tight marking a new babe as he tried to help her out fill certain forms.
Despite the ‘kasana’ (heavy sunshine) that rocked MAK, the freshers never showed any sign of leaving the senate building but rather stood firmly waiting for the line inside to reduce. One babe was overheard making a phone call vowing not to join Kyambogo if Makerere denies her as she spoke in Luganda saying that “Walai wano webigaana Kyambogo sijja gendayo wande bampa” a statement meaning that “If they deny me here I won’t join Kyambomgo despite being admitted already”
It should be noted that Makerere freshers officially begin next week on 12th August while continuing students start on 19th August, however, the current busy situation at the University looks like the semester has already began.
In other news besides freshers, construction for Makerere’s dental hospital is already complete and it could open anytime from now basing on the new poster placed. On the other hand, the World Bank funded-main gate construction is still in ongoing at Makerere University.
