The Makerere University Academic Registrar Mr. Alfred Masikye Namoah has this afternoon released the institution’s academic calendar for the year 2020 – 2021.
The calendar, which was supposed to be released last year was delayed following the continued closure of universities over COVID-19.
According to the calendar, Makerere’s freshers’ orientation week will run from Saturday 30th January to Friday 5th February 2021 (7 days ). The calendar further indicates that semester one will officially kick off on Saturday 6th February 2021 and it will run to Saturday 8th May 2021 (13 weeks).
The university is expected to hold their 71st graduation ceremony from Tuesday 16th March 2021 to Friday 19th March 2021.
Students will then have a semester one holiday break starting from Saturday 8th May 2021 to Saturday 15th May 2021 (1 week). Students will resume their studies for the second semester on Saturday 15th May 2021 until Saturday 14th August 2021 (13 weeks ).
Recess Term Saturday will run from 4th August 2021 to Saturday 11th September 2021 (4 weeks ).
