Makerere University has released the names of the students that have been awarded government scholarship for the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree for the academic year 2019/2020.
According to the list, only 41 students will undertake LLB degree their tuition being paid for by the government. Of the 41, only 36 were selected from the students who just finished the A’ level, 2 were already diploma holders, and 3 qualified through the mature entry scheme.
About 70 % of the students on government scholarship for law were male, and only 30 were female, an indication that the male students performed better than their counter part female students.
The highest mark scored from the pre entry that was sat in early April scored 79 percent (Lutindo Ivan), followed by a 75 from Taremwa Victor and then Kahooro Anesah with the 71. The last mark considered for the scholarship was a 62 for the A’ level students, and a 54 for the mature age entry, 66 being the highest.
