The residents of the mighty Kulubya – Pearl halls held the very first ever successful porridge night at Kyambogo university at the Kulubya hall grounds on Saturday.
This fun filled porridge night happened the night after the official fresher’s ball. The event which kicked off at 8pm attracted various girls from the all female Pearl hall.
The Kulubya boys hall decided to throw this lavish porridge night so as to set a trend for the rest and revive their ‘mighty’ name and to put Kyambogo at the front.
By 10pm, the venue was filled as plenty students were seen joining the endless queues to get a taste of the porridge. Most of the boys were seen holding new saucepans, big jugs, soda bottles lining up for porridge and as if this wasn’t enough the Queen’s from Pearl hall who happen to be Kulubya’s favourite were given a special treat and they were not allowed to line up but rather served while sited.
There was also great music to accompany the night from a hired DJ while some of the students sung along to some instrumentals that were also played for the porridge lovers. Some of the songs played included Master blasters “Embooko” while other performances like mimes, dancing among others were done by students to entertain others.
