Makerere University third year student, and NBS TV presenter, Argatha Loswash today woke up on the wrong side of the right bed. The mass com student has come out to scoff at the ‘Basama’ (Ugandans from the diaspora) for their showy stunts. In a venomous facebook post, Loswash goes hard on these Basama something most social media commentators refer to as ‘jealousy’. Below is her post;
Hhhhmmm I pity some people, the ones everyone refers to as “abasama” come on you guys give us a break! (Tulibakowu). You leave your homeland, family and friends ( actually some ABANDON) run off to God knows where on this planet to make some extra cash, then return here with the nerve of making yourselves believe you are better than everyone else that lives here. Well I gat a massage for you all…
I and the people with the same mindset are busy in our own country( that we are soo proud of by the way) working soo hard to make our lives and those we solely care about extremely comfortable.
Temutuletako kamanyilo throwing shade at the people you’ve found home after you’ve been away for a bunch of years doing all sort of jobs some people here would actually never do, losing your dignity and self worth in the process all in the name of making money.
I want to advise you that once you come back home for the holidays season, make it all about loving, sharing and caring for your family and friends. Quit showing off your cash, fancy clothes, cars ( if any) and brazzilian weaves and focus on what benefits you and yours. We the ones your showing off to live that kind of life on a daily and are overwhelming happy with it. So, calm down and relax, keep a low profile and be happy.Am fed up of hearing self proclaimed camps like “rich gang, fab clan, money team, money brothers etc team this..team dat” what remarkable thing have you done for your nation if you think you gat it all? none of you deserve those names ok! I, #ArgathaLoswash have spoken. Now bite me.
“She may have been turned down by one of the Basamas so she decided to take her frustration to social media,” one of the social media commentators, Fred Ayebare, from Makerere University noted.
A one Ritah Kaggwa, who is also in the diaspora responded; “I once had the same mindset after being denied a UK viza 5 times (lol).”
We are yet to find out what compelled our dear student to speak her mind.The post seems like this had been in her mind for a very long time and she had to get it off her chest. Whatever it is, one thing is for sure, the point has been driven home!
