The Bible in some verse I’m not conversant with, says that if a part of your body makes you sin, chop it off. Well, MUBS girls and the love for freebies….. these girls are so greedy that they won’t even spare a rolex guy’s hard earned cash. It appears, MUBS collects the finest gold diggers from the country or freshers are initiated into the spirit of fleecing and detoothing in their orientation week. How else would one explain the detoothing expertise MUBS girls possess. It goes without saying that MUBS freshers are better at detoothing than Kyambogo finalists or UCU second years. So, Riri, a Mubs fresher (who is also known as the ‘Elnino Queen’, according to her close pals) residing at Akamwesi, currently has no phone. The circumstances through which she lost her phone are sinister.
Last Friday, this Elnino Queen who ‘makes it rain’ in bed, met Ojame, who is a famed rolex guy. Trust Nakawa rolex guys to have game, they dress up appropriately unlike Kikoni rolex guys. Ojame in his rather good English asks Riri for directions to Nakawa market, then proceeds to flatter her, within minutes he tells Riri he believes in love at first sight and that it seems he’s fallen for her. He asks for her number, her battery is off so she can’t save his phone. He, in a bid to prove his love asks Riri to follow him to any nearby boutique, he asks her to choose ten dresses. Now any campus girl would lose sense when such an offer presents itself. Riri happily says she believes she’s falling in love too.
At this point, Ojame asks his already over-the-moon ‘babe’ for her phone for he knows a guy around who might help them charge. Riri hands over the phone. Ojame, isn’t stupid enough to fail to detect opportunity when opportunity slaps him in the face. Ojame vanishes from the very face of the earth and leaves Riri waiting for her lover, her phone and payment for the dresses. She stays in the clothe shop waiting for an Ojame who is on his other fraudster businesses. In short, their relationship lasted minutes.
Her searches are futile, she sees him two days later and all she asks is whether Ojame paid for the dresses [and not her phone]. He cooks up a story about his boss having urgently called him. Ojame promises to return her phone and vanishes. This is quite shocking, we are ascertaining who cursed Mubs girls? This power of faith isn’t flattering, it’s sheer naivety. Poor girl will hopefully wait for Ojame who’ll meanwhile be elsewhere playing the same monkey tricks to another naive Riri.
