Come 2016, the world’s youngest legislator, Hon Proscovia Alengot won’t be in the ballot box seeking for a re-election, she’ll instead be in University of Central Oklahoma hustling for a degree. The 22-year-old threw in the towel at her Public Administration course in UCU Kampala Campus and has quit politics. She has already travelled and seems to be having the best time of her life after saying bye to stressing politics.
This comes after the Usuk Member of Parliament seemingly got ‘scared of fierce competition’ from Peter Ogwang (NRM MP Youth Eastern) who’s determined to take over her seat. Alengot accused Ogwang of launching schemes in Usuk meant to undermine her ahead of the 2016 elections and decided to give President Museveni conditions to let Ogwang stand unopposed. Among the demands Alengot made before she abandoned her plans of seeking a re-run in 2016, were shs800 million, cash to help her start up a business that’d sustain her after parliament. This money has since helped her venture into real estate and facilitated her enrollment in University of Central Oklahoma.
The Bee is buzzing!
