Yesterday the Katikkiro (Prime Minister) of Buganda Kingdom, Ow’ekitiibwa Charles Peter Mayiga was at Makerere University as reported in our first article. He was collecting funds to help in the reconstruction of the Kasubi Tombs so students, lecturers and professors were asked to dig deep into their pockets to make a contribution. The pockets of these dons turned out to either be empty or have holes. Pot-bellied Professors shamelessly contributed shs500, shs1,000 and others painfully contributed 5k.
What shocked many was the Mitchell hall representatives were asked to to present their contributions to the Katikkiro, only to find out that the whole hall had contributed only shs2,000.
