Valentine vibrancy seems to linger in the air around Mary Stuart hall, Makerere University, even after the big day passes. Yesterday , the 16th of February 2015, Radiant hair products decided to shower the girl students with free hair services at “no price” whatsoever.
By 9 am, Radiant tear drop banners colorfully displayed in white, green and black Radiant theme colours were flying alongside Makerere roads. Hoping to buy some hair products at a cheap price, girls were seen following the banner lane to the big radiant promotion car booming with music.
To every girls surprise however, all hair matters were to be worked on at no price. Happy endings became a reality and no longer a fairy tale fantasy. In a few hours, word had gone around and masses of girls were seen making their way to the van that now seemed to be a candy draped castle that each wanted to get a piece of.
Treatment, hot combing, hair ironing and even perm rods among others were made to most girls’ satisfaction. Normally, these hairdos are done between 10000-25000 Uganda shillings.
” I have saved 20000 that I was going to use for retouch later today. I guess I am just lucky!” exclaimed a vibrant Sharon Kyomugisha that was getting out of the saloon.
By 4 pm, the smartly dressed hair dressers barely had space to breath as students scrambled to get a chance at the free services.
Christine Namazzi, one of the hair dressers explained to the Campus Bee that the promotion intended to show the girls how wonderful Radiant products are and help them choose for their hair wisely.
When asked if she would use Radiant products, Alice Namara, whose hair had just been worked on and a third year social science student at Makerere University gave a rather encouraging answer.
“Why not? My hair truly looks radiant now and besides, when someone does you good, you return the favour”.
More other girls have had similar answers and since girls kept flocking the Radiant van even after 8 pm, Radiant has given the girls another day today, Tuesday, 17th February 2015, at Complex hall.
