In the Observer Newspaper of 16 June 2013, it was reported that the world’s youngest legislator [Usuk MP] Hon Proscovia Oromait Alengot was scared of ‘fierce’ competition from Peter Ogwang (MP Youth Eastern). Alengot accused Ogwang of launching schemes in Usuk meant to undermine her ahead of the 2016 elections. “He is moving around the constituency telling people that I am young, I am a non-performer and so many other things,” the UCU student is quoted to have said.
Campusbee has learned that Alengot, on realising that Ogwang (who is also under the NRM ticket) had gained ground and had become people’s favourite down in Usuk, she quickly devised means of getting compensated if she is to surrender and hand Ogwang sole candidature come 2016.
Impeccable sources told Campusbee that early this year, Alengot, in a secret meeting went into negotiations with the NRM Chairman, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Among the demands Alengot made before she abandons her plans of seeking a re-run in 2016, was shs800 million, cash to help her start up a business that’d sustain her after parliament.
This website has also learnt that Alengot asked President Museveni to take care of her siblings. The President obliged to pay school fees for Alengot plus her four siblings until they are all done with their studies.
Also, shs800 million was handed over to her before she left State House, Entebbe. We are told Alengot left with an ear-to-ear smile, hoped into her car and drove away as happy as a campus dude who has been promised sex by a virgin. Which business she has opened is still a mystery to us but whispers in corridors have it that the 22-year-old is venturing into real estate.
So we can authoritatively confirm that come 2016, we won’t be seeing Hon Alengot in Parliament again!
