On this episode of MUK Vs The Gashumbas, 19-year-old daughter to Frank Gashumba and NTV presenter, Sheila Gashumba fires back at Makerere University students. In a WhatsApp chat forum that this Campusbee writer is apart of, Sheila, when quizzed about why her father just can’t move on, said that MUK students are just “idle and have nothing to do.”
“When you go to the airport, do they ask for a MUK degree? or when you go to a shop do they ask for your degree? Surely a degree from Makerere cannot pay my bills. At the end of the day, the end result is what matters…who you become after leaving Makerere is what matters…who will you become? Will you roam around the streets hawking household items with your degree or be someone of my calibre?” she replied.
Campusbee can authoritatively report that The TV star who also has an events management company dubbed Sarafina Events Ltd said that there are so many universities in Uganda that are better than Makerere. Also, Sheila’s father, Frank Gashumba insists that his daughter’s company employs some graduates- so there’s no need to look down on his girl.
All these drama started weeks ago when Sheila was denied a chance to speak at the ‘Face of MUK’ event because, well, according to the ‘MUK intellectuals, Sheila is a school dropout, so they couldn’t allow a drop out to address them.
