A renowned man of God shocked followers on Sunday when he was arrested for allegedly raping a member of his congregation.
John Kanamugire a Pastor at Busooba Delieverance Church, Tororo Diocese is alleged to have forced a 23-year-old Uganda Christian University student, Ruth Kwagala to have sex from Rubaga Lotus Guest House. The pastor was on a visit to Kampala and decided to call up this student from Mukono. The girl is said to be a regular member of Busooba Deliverance Church during her holidays.
Kanamugire, denied the allegation saying the girl consented to their sex. According to the pastor’s statement filed at Nateete Police Station, the Pastor claims he had gone to Nasser Road to print crusade posters but coincidentally met this student at the printery. “When it became late, I agreed with her and we drove to Rubaga Lotus Guest House where I usually sleep whenever I visit Kampala,” the statement read.
But according to the girl,she said that the pastor first booked two rooms but it was to her surprise that this shameless pastor entered into her room that night and forced her into having sex.
