Rev. Samson Malisa, an assistant chaplain at Uganda Christian University and lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the same university who is being accused of sodomising students has been pardoned by the university.
“The case is being handled very carefully. Yes, the decision of firing him was already made but he was not served the letter officially. The university got ‘orders from above’ (gov’t) to desist from sacking the don or face dire consequences. Apparently, they want to keep him in the face of the community. He will continue to lecture but under serious scrutiny by the university administrators,” a top university don who opted to remain anonymous intimated.
Maliisa is still the assistant Champlain and lecturer at Uganda Christian University. He first did his BA in Laws at UCU before enrolling for a Masters Degree in Theology after which he was ordained as a reverend. He still heads many fellowships including the university’s main fellowship as the Papa.
The issue that was a top secret among the top university administrators was leaked to Campusbee a few weeks ago by an insider.
