The Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng has issued out the guidelines that medical students will have to take in order to sit for their pre-entry internship exams.
This decision comes after the minister proclaimed that the tests were necessary so as to produce fresh medical personnel that will help improve on the absence of training and acquiring of guidelines.
According to Dr Aceng, the tests will be conducted in September, and they will be administered by the health professional councils. Then after, those that will prevail will be deployed come October.
While speaking to the press, Dr Micheal Bukenya the committee chairperson said that all intern doctors will have to sign a contract before internship that will indicate the specifications of the work they have been assigned to do, their maintenance and duration of the programme.
This contract will be signed by interns that will be enrolled to both public and private facilities in the country.
