In order to bridge the wide gap between government and the youth, the Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Honourable Frank Tumwebaze has pledged to work hand-in-hand with online youth platforms like Campus Bee to interact with the young people.
“We need to tell the heritage of Uganda to our young people- the best way to do this is through the various online youth platforms,” Hon Tumwebaze noted, adding that these platforms need to improve their content in terms of credibility and professionalism.
The minister was meeting Online Media Managers on Thursday morning under their umbrella association, Online Media Association of Uganda [OMAU].
The chairperson of OMAU, Giles Muhame, (also the Managing Editor of ChimpReports), told the minister that the association’s main objective is to proffessionalize the online news industry by self-regulation, creating content that inspires & unlocks opportunities between government, private sector & Ugandans with major focus on the youth.
