Gulu University on Friday held a groundbreaking ceremony that hosted the Rt. Hon. Oulanya Jacob Lokori, the deputy speaker of parliament for the construction of the business and development centre near the Gulu University pitch.

The event was attended by students of Gulu University, guild officials and local leaders. The university chancellor, Professor Frederick Ian Bantubano Kayanja  also graced the ceremony along with other university stakeholders to mark this infrastructural milestone being taken up by the institution of higher learning.

The business and development centre will have 4 floors, 11 lecture rooms, computer laboratories and a lot more modern equipment and set ups,” said the university vice chancellor, Professor Openjuru George Ladaar while addressing the delegates during the ceremony.

He also mentined that the complex will cost a sum of up to 35 billion Uganda shillings which will be fully funded by the government of Uganda. The construction of the complex is estimated to take four years having been contracted to a Chinese company only known as CHICO.
