Guild presidents through their umbrella body, the Uganda National Students’ Association always meets on an annual basis. But unlike majority of their previous meetings, this year’s meeting is aimed at laying out their targets at next year’s national elections.
Going under the theme of, “THE ROLE OF STUDENTS’ LEADERS IN TRANSFORMING THE SOCIETY”, the leaders intend to come up with a program “designed in such a way to build leadership capacity of the current and future generation”.
They hope to put an end to what they call the concept of trial and error “as well as reactive management that has
characterized our local and national leadership for long”.
“We now need to usher in properly trained students and national leaders,” says UNSA speaker, Aziz Mujuzi.
To him, this is hoped to enable them perceive and communicate messages that are timely, convincing and effective; hence improving the management of UNSA activities that have impact to the society and the nation.
They specifically targeting student leaders of all Universities and other tertiary institutions in all the country.
The meeting takes place between 14 – 16th, November at Makerere Main Hall.
