After many years of dusty walkways, the students will no longer choke on durst after the tarmacking process is completed. An idea which seemed so impossible has finally been realized.
“We wrote a concept paper And On the 7th of July we had our first meeting with the Chinese company,” said Abdul Kiragga, the Prime Minister of Gulu guild (Revamp) Government.
He emphasized that revamp government initiated the process to have the University tarmacked.
He noted that the top guild leadership And Mr. Moses Abonga (Chairperson LC III of Laroo division) were the team that negotiated with the chief of construction company to take up the job. After the meeting, the idea was brought to the VC Prof. George Openjuru, University Bursar and Secretary, who overwhelmingly agreed to support and facilitate the project which started without delay.
Many students have turned to social media platforms to show off the new developments and also thank the Guild president, HE Mbaziira Daniel for keeping his promise of pushing forward in revamping the face of the University.
Construction materials are at site and graders, crawler excavators have already leveled the pathways plus digging of drainage channels. The Prime Minister told Campus bee that engineers speculate that tarmacking university will be done in late November.
