Yesterday 29th July 2020, Kilak North Member of Parliament Hon Anthony Akol informed Parliament that most of the students in boarder districts such as Amuru were left out in the ongoing 2020/2021 university private admissions due to the fact that these districts are still in Lockdown.
This was based on the fact that several learners were left out of the application process due to lack of internet, communication gaps, and lack of transport.
In response to the matter, the State Minister for Higher Education John Chrysostom Muyingo informed the August house that students who were affected by the lockdown will be allowed to apply to the University under a special arrangement to ensure that no one is left behind.
The management of Gulu University has introduced a special application scheme considering those students who were left out as a result of COVID-19 lockdown.
This was revealed by Mr. James Onono Ojok, the Public Relations Officer Gulu University who affirmed that they will consider the students who did not apply, at the time of the deadline.
