Gulu University Senior Administrative Staff Association (Gusasa) members have given the institution’s management a one week ultimatum to have cleared their salary arrears or they go on strike.
While meeting from University Café on November 18, Gusasa members unanimously agreed that they have gone several months without getting these arrears, a reason they shouldn’t resume work next week if they are not paid.
“The management be given up to Friday 25th November 2016, to ensure that non teaching staff get their salary arrears. Failure to comply, Non-Teaching Staff will go on industrial action starting Monday 28th November 2016,” reads part of the letter that is signed by Gusasa chairman Khalid Mahmoud and copied to vice chancellor, guild president an other stake holders.
