The students of Gulu University were sent into shock yesterday as they learnt of the untimely death of a one KIRONDE JOSEPH (RIP). He died at Mulago National Referral hospital on Monday at noon.
The deceased was a third year of MBChB student training Gulu University. He was a victim of a tumor called non Hodgkin lymphoma.
Kironde is remembered for his active participation as a member in Gulu University Medical Students’ Association (GUMSA)as well as Federation for Medical Students Association (FUMSA) at the nationals.
“He was a very God-fearing man dedicated to Christian service and evangelism who would at all costs perform his duties to the best of his abilities”, said Noowe Jonson his classmate. “As FUMSA, we are not only saddened by your passing on but also puzzled by the reason why you were taken too early”, said Mukembo Robert, secretary general FUMSA.
Many students at Ochwee hostel were left in disbelief and desiccation after hearing the sad news.
Some were seen going to main campus to prepare for the on-going End of semester one examinations while several others just kept at hostel with no energy to turn the pages.
With all the pain and grief, we at the Hive join all students of Gulu University to remember this dear friend and we pray that the good Lord grants him an eternal rest.
