Gulu University is seeking government support to construct a new lecture block in memory of the Late speaker Rt. Hon. Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah.
The University management says the new block will be raised at the faculty of law in memory of the late.
Gulu University is situated in the northern part of Uganda, the same region from which the late speaker originates. A lecture block in his remembrance at a university in the same region in which he will be laid to rest will be indeed a mark of honour.
Prior to his death, the late speaker made his last appearance at Gulu University in November 2021 where he was a guest-of-honour at the Inter-university debate competition.
The late speaker Jacob Oulanyah will be laid to rest on Friday April 8th, 2022 at his ancestral home in Lalogi, Omoro district.
