Gulu University’s guild president Okot Francis is the newly elected president of Uganda National Students Association (UNSA).
Okot was elected new president on Saturday night, December 30th, 2023, during the UNSA general assembly held at Kyankwanzi.
He defeated five others including Makerere University’s current speaker Babinga Gozan Wilson. Okot got 217 votes while Gozan came second with 149 votes.

Makerere University retained the position of vice president UNSA as Gold Ikyiriza defeated her rivals Atyang Anna Mary and Halera Alex.
MUBS guild president Wasswa Christopher was elected speaker with Niwasiima Sandrine as his deputy. The new secretary general is Muhumza Edwine and will be deputised by Atuhairwe Domitira.
