Today, there was heavy presence of police officers at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Main Campus in Mbale City to stop law students from demonstrating.
Law students at the Islamic University in Uganda told Campus Bee that the Faculty of Law at the institution is facing challenges.
The newly elected President of Law Students Society (LSS) Ivan Magomu said that students need the challenges such as missing marks on ERP portal among others be addressed.
The students also allege that one of the lecturers at the Faculty is giving them hard time for not discharging her duties well.
Apparently, the students held a meeting with top administrators of IUIU to map the way forward. The university has resolved to solve students grievances within a week from today.
Among others that attended the meeting include Vice Rector (Academic Affairs) Dr Jamil Serwanga, Academic Registrar Dr Halima Wakabi Akbar and Dean of Students Dr Kabali Sulaiti.
