It’s that time of the year again; new students (freshers) are up and about their reporting moments to their new academic grounds i.e. campus.
The reporting weeks for the new students usually attract the most attention due to captivation and peculiar moments captured through and off the lenses as young souls start a whole new life.
August is just about the same, as a yet-to-be identified fresher alleged to be attached to Bishop Stuart University (BSU) has showed up in style, one that is déjà vu.
In a photo captured by our snoop, properties including a metallic suitcase and a mattress wrapped in a sack (locally known as ekuttiya) are seen awaiting offloading on a boda-boda at the BSU gate.
The sight has turned heads as a section of witnesses find it so unusual of a University student to show up that way.
Metallic suitcases, known for their solid security are perceived as a thing for high school/secondary.
Studies for the August intake at BSU are slated to kickoff starting August 7th after reporting and orientation of new students.
Background
4 years ago, the gates of Makerere welcomed a fresher in a similar style, lifting a metallic suitcase, clad with nothing but hope. But as they say, there is no bad PR (Public Relations) as this student who was trolled on social medi,a is seemingly making significant strides in his career as a mechanical engineer all thanks to the scholarship and plenty of financial provisions he received.
Recently, the (now former) student Mr Henry Ssuubi, fresh off his final academic year, landed his first job ahead of graduation; something that not so many graduates are lucky to have.
