The death of Ivan Ssemwanga is likely to affect more people in Uganda than the expected party animals he used to hang around with. It turns out that the deceased was establishing hostels along Sir Apollo Kaggwa whose main target was to house Makerere University students. The five floor newly erected building was almost reaching final construction stages before the tycoon breathed his last.
However, his manager identified as Henry Kato has revealed that by the time Ssemwanga died, he was planning to turn this building into a Hotel as opposed to his initial hostel plans.
Kato also revealed that this hostel was not Ssemwanga’s only education plan in Uganda but he was also planning to establish a school for the needy down in his Kayunga home village.
Despite being uneducated, the fallen tycoon had huge interests for education as clearly evidenced by his many collages in South Africa and his plans to establish some back here in Uganda. At the moment it is not clear who will be running the businesses he left behind, we hope whoever takes over continues with the about to be completed hostels.
