Students of Kyambogo University were yesterday taken by amazement after one of the many guild aspirants paid full tuition for two students who were stranded. Amanya German, the FDC flag bearer Kyambogo university and also contestant in the guild race was spotted escorting two male students identified as Kato Saul and Kigumba Lawrence both belonging to the faculty of education to the bank.
This website on hearing about this act approached a one Kato Saul, who is one of the beneficiaries to question him about the authenticity of this information. Kato resisted confirming this information claiming Amanya asked him to keep out of the public, but Kato later confirmed that “yes Amanya paid my tuition yesterday afternoon.”
“Two weeks back I approached Amanya German through a friend and told him of my story, on how my parents had failed to raise tuition. He listened and told me he would see the way forward but I was so excited when I received a call from him yesterday asking me to meet him at the bank. He gave me 790,000 Ugandan shillings to clear my tuition . He, however, asked me to keep it to myself ‘but I couldn’t keep the excitement to myself,” Kato narrated.
This website talked to Amanya about this heroic act which he admitted. He also told us that this is not first student he has done it for. He said he has been doing this from way back including helping students who had issues of missing marks.
“I don’t want this to seem like a publicity stunt. I have been doing this for a long time. We need to understand that as leaders we need to help friends in society especially when God has granted you capability of helping,‘’ Amanya told our reporter.

Amanya German is a second year student offering a bachelor’s of accounting and finance; he is the current School of Management and Entrepreneurship Guild Representative Councilor and the Faculty President.
