Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) is celebrating one of its beneficiaries, a one Kenneth Mubiru who has completed payment of his 𝐔𝐠𝐱 𝟖.𝟕𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Appearing at HESFB office of Executive Director Michael O. Wanyama (CPA), Mubiru was presented with a certificate of appreciation for remunerating the government.
“Meet Kenneth Mubiru who has just completed payment of his 𝐔𝐠𝐱 𝟖.𝟕𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 #StudentLoan. He joined the Scheme in 2014 among the pioneer beneficiaries, studying B. Biomedical Lab Technology @Makerere, graduating in 2018,” HESFB notified.
Mubiru went on to grab a scholarship for Masters’ of science in Immunology & Clinical Microbiology at Makerere College of Health Sciences. He says, he started to save a percentage of his stipend to pay for the study loan that had helped him with Undergraduate education, completing it in April 2022
Raised by a Single Mother, Kenneth was motivated to pay back the loan quickly to help another student who needed to achieve their academic goals and calls on colleagues to pay up faster as well. He is now focused on finishing his Masters.
“We celebrate you Kenneth Mubiru,” HESFB added.
The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) was established in February, 2014 by an Act of Parliament HESFB Act No. 2 of 2014, with a mandate to provide Loans and Scholarships to Ugandan students to pursue Higher Education.
HESFB is intended to provide loans and scholarships to Ugandan students who have qualified to pursue accredited courses of study or programmes in the recognized Higher Education Institutions in Uganda but are unable to support themselves financially.
HESFB implements the Students Loan Scheme.
