Kyambogo University held its 19th graduation ceremony this week between 6th – 8th December, 2023.
Day 3 (8th December 2023) witnessed the following schools graduate;
- School of Built Environment
- School of Computing and Information Science
- School of Education
- Faculty of Engineering
- Faculty of Science
A total of 10926 graduands have been conferred with degrees and of these, 6118 are males and 4808 are females. 483 graduands attained 1st class degrees.
Also, eight PhD students will be graduating; six from School of Education and two from Faculty Science. These include;
- Dr. Anyango Mary who graduated today with a Doctor of Philosophy in Education titled: “Performance Management and Job Performance of Academic Staff at Makerere University Uganda. The study was supervised by Dr. Regis Zombeire Kamaduuka and Rev. Sr. Dr. Maria Gorreti Kaahwa.
- Dr. Okia Henry Stanley also graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Education titled: “Support Supervision and Teacher Performance in Government-aided Primary Schools in Teso sub-region, Uganda.” The study was supervised by Dr. Esther Frances Naluwemba and Ass. Prof. George Wilson Kasule.
In his closing day speech, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eli Katunguka, emphasized the significance of graduation as a collective celebration of achievements.
He also expressed how development of new accredited programs has showcased the university’s commitment to academic advancement.
The final day of Kyambogo’s graduation ceremony was graced by Minister of State for Education & Sports Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu who represented the Minister of Education and Sports First Lady Janet Museveni.
She urged the congregation to embrace the 21st century of teaching and learning citing that “workforce is nowadays based on competence.”
Dr. Moriku also requested graduands to “take charge of your lifestyles and be personally responsible for your health to avoid HIV/AIDS. Take health as a responsibility.”
