Makerere University Academic Registrar, Alfred Masikye Namoah yesterday warned freshers from indulging in acts of homosexuality that are becoming rampant at the biggest public university in the country.
While speaking at the freshers meeting yesterday, at the main campus, Masikye revealed that the continuous allegations of students having same sex relationships have since turned to be true.
Masikye said; “Homosexuals have invaded this university. It is not a new thing. Students have in several occasions pinned those other students who practice homosexuality in broad day light.”
He emphasized that freshmen should desist from engaging in this abominable act because not only it is immoral, but also a threat to their lives and health.
In April this year, the police raided the offices of the USA-funded Makerere University Water Reed project on grounds that they were recruiting students into homosexuality.
Masikye also warned students from gambling and betting their tuition fees to be able to pay tuition in time and avoid inconveniences during the examination period.
