Honourable Barnabas Tinkansimire paid a courtesy visit to his former hall of residence Mitchell hall at Makerere University days after disorganizing parliamentary business in an attempt to sing the Mitchell hall anthem.
Hon. Tinkansimire visited Mitchell hall alias ‘rat land’ on Wednesday April 6th, 2022 and encouraged the young ‘rats’ to take up leadership responsibilities whenever opportunities knock at their door.
He (Hon. Tinkansimire) also condoled together with the Mitchell hall fraternity about the loss of the Late speaker emeritus Hon. Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah, a former resident of Mitchell hall during his time as a student at Makerere University.
Honourable Tinkansimire brought parliamentary business to a standstill on Tuesday April 5th, 2022 when we grabbed the microphone and asked the Deputy speaker Hon. Thomas Tayebwa to permit him sing the Mitchell hall anthem in honour of the late Hon. Jacob Oulanyah who was as well a member of Mitchell hall.
Hon. Barnabas Tinkansimire and the late Jacob Oulanyah shared the same hall of residence (Mitchell hall) when the former joined Makerere University to pursue his degree in Social Sciences.
As part of culture, halls of residences at Makerere University have anthems that all residents render respect to as part of culture. Its not a surprise therefore that Honourable Barnabas Tinkansimire had to insist on having the Mitchell hall anthem sang in memory of a fallen ‘rat’.
