Katwe police is holding a daughter of His Royal Highness the Kamuswaga of Kooki chiefdom Apollo Ishansa Kabumbuli Rwampanja II on allegations of stealing a phone.
The arrested girl has been identified as Natasha Mutoni and was arrested on Saturday night by detectives who have been hunting for her for close to two months.
According to our source at Katwe police station Mutoni stole a phone from a woman identified as Becky Turituka belonging to her step mother whom they stay together.
Mutoni is reported to have sold the same phone to other lady who was first arrested and then later led the police investigators to the prime suspect.
Immediately after her arrest, the Kamuswaga on learning about the daughter’s arrested drove to Katwe police station to rescue her but it was too late to secure her bond in the night.
He was however shocked when the detectives told her that her arrest was because of theft.
The disgusted His Royal Highness the Kamuswaga left an instruction that she should be held and be taken to court.
She has been charged with offense of theft of a phone vide SD 64/13/11/2017of Katwe police station pending to be charged in courts of law.
When contacted for a comment, the minister of information in the Obwakamuswaga Stanley Ndawula told this website that the said phone was stolen from the suspect’s home a few weeks ago but said he wasn’t aware of Mutoni’s arrest
