Police have Tracked a doctor who terminated Irene’s pregnancy that led her to death.
Irene Kyakunda, 19 years, was a first year public Administration student at Kampala International University.
On Tuesday the body of Irene Kyakunda was discovered in the swamps of Nakimese Zone in Nsangi, an area in Wakiso district.
Initial reports indicated that Irene could have been raped and murdered since a lot of blood was found in her private parts.
Confirmation police proofs indicate that Irene made telephone calls with the doctor alerting him that she would arrive at his clinic for an abortion, and was encouraged by the doctor that abortion would be successful., this was further approved by a post-mortem report.
Undissolved traces of abortion pills were also found in Irene’s body. A few hours after abortion, Irene experienced massive uncontrollable internal bleeding that shortly led her to death.
The doctor who carried an abortion on her later carried her body to a swamp in Wakiso district, definitely to escape from having to answer to authorities.
Kyakunda Irene was burried on Thursday in Kiruhura district amidst deep grief from her mother, family, relatives and friends.
“Irene was my only daughter that God gave me, I had entrusted all pieces of funds in striving to educate her” mother tells mourners amidst deep grief.
