Uganda’s high society has been swept by a twin baby craze, and now royalty has joined the trend. The Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, has officially announced the birth of his twin sons — Prince William Ethan Nadiope and Prince Arnold Eli Nadiope — born on August 27, 2025.
Taking to social media, the monarch shared his joy:
“With profound joy and heartfelt gratitude, I am delighted to formally announce the birth of our twin sons… Both newborns, along with their remarkable mother, are in high spirits and excellent health.”
The news has electrified Busoga Kingdom and beyond, with royalists hailing the births as a “double blessing” for the throne.
But the Kyabazinga’s announcement also feeds into what is fast becoming a pattern among Uganda’s elite. Just two years ago, Speaker of Parliament Anita Among made headlines after welcoming twins. Now, the King has followed suit — sparking chatter about whether the rise in twin births is entirely natural.
Medical insiders whisper that fertility clinics in Kampala are increasingly able to induce multiple ovulation, boosting the chances of conceiving twins — for those who can afford it. The procedures reportedly cost a fortune, accessible only to the wealthiest and most powerful families.
For now, the Kyabazinga is basking in the joy of fatherhood, with Busoga Kingdom celebrating the royal additions. The palace has promised that the princes will be formally introduced to the public “in due course.”
