Following the announcement by Kyambogo University over the weekend that a partial list for diploma students admitted on the private program has been released, hundreds lined up as early as Monday morning to secure a place at the Banda based campus.
It is said that the released diploma list is not complete and it contains loopholes as some engineering courses are left behind. The remaining students whose names did not appear on this diploma list are yet to be released anytime from now though not yet clear when exactly.
We visited the faculty of arts and social sciences where hundreds of incoming Kyambogo students flocked. Not even the hard hitting sunshine could make them chicken out of the queue. They, however, eventually withdrew at lunchtime hours as the administrators broke off for lunch.
Aside from the struggle for admissions, Kyambogo campus premises were fully occupied by new freshers who started reporting last Saturday 5th August 2017. Like we had earlier reported, normal lectures for continuing students are slated to kick off next weekend beginning with 12th August.
