The Law Development Centre (LDC) finally released the 2016 – 2017 academic year results wherein, hundreds of students got the good news that they would finally become advocates of the courts of judicature.
In the released lists, 312 passed straight without any inconveniences, some 205 await supplementary exams in disciplines that they didnt satisfactorily ace whereas 3 failed outrightly after failing to meet the passmark in four or more subjects.
In addition to that, 48 missed some exams and have got some explaining to do while 54 didnt report for the course at all.
Candidates who have passed the course and those that shall pass the supplementary exams will graduate on 27th April, 2018.
As expected, there was an aura of excitement over social media as students celebrated the outcome and congratulated eachother.
Former Makerere University Social Affairs Minister and UNSA Finance Secretary, Racheal Musinguzi even lightheartedly described the institution as “HELL DC” in her self congratulatory message on facebook.
According to the Academic Registrar, Mr. Everest Turyahikayo, the graduation fee is 250,000/= and it includes fees for graduation, transcript and certificate.
Additionally, the candidates to sit special/supplementary examination shall pay 100,000/= per subject and these will be conducted from 15th – 25th January, 2018.
LDC is the sole institution in the country responsible for turning law students into fully fledged advocates. It is located in Kagugube zone just next to Makerere University.
